Domains
In this page you can learn how to create/edit/delete domains. To know more about the domains, please use the "domain area" links on the left navigation bar(side bar).
The following picture shows the available domains in the default configuration.
By default, the PBX installation creates one domain (pbx.company.com) and associates localhost as alias to it. If you want to provide more aliases you can do so by adding them to the alias field separated with a space.
Creating a domain
This section explains how to create a domain under PBX. In most cases, you can work with just one domain. But if you are hosting the PBX service for different customers or if you want to separate the divisions within the same organization as domains, then you need to create more than 1 domain.
The PBX checks if the name or one of its alias names already exists. If a name already exists, you must first remove the name from the domain list
Primary Name: This is the actual domain name. This name will be used when the PBX sends requests from this domain.
Alias Names: The alias names are additional names to find the domain. You can have more than one aliases for a given domain. In such cases you need to separate the names using a space character.
Create from file: If you have already saved the domain config from a different installation, you can use it here.
Editing the domain
This section explains how to edit a domain. Editing is useful, if you want to change the name of the domain or assigning more aliases or removing aliases from the domain.
Primary Name: This is the actual domain name. You can change the name of an existing domain here.
Alias Names: This is the alias(es) for the above domain. You can have zero or more aliases for a domain. You have to use space characters if you want to assign more than 1 aliases.
Maximum Number of Accounts: This is the maximum number of accounts that can be created on this domain. This number is limited by the accounts in the purchased license.
Maximum Number of Extensions: This field lets to configure the maximum number of extensions that can be created on this domain. This number can not exceed maximum number of accounts.
Maximum Number of Calls: This field lets you configure the maximum number of simultaneous calls on this domains.
Max. number of concurrent registrations per extension: This setting controls how many phones can be registered against a particular extension. This setting is useful, if you want to restrict the user against several registration. Very useful to reduce the load on the PBX/network on an incoming call to the extension.
Deleting the domain
You can delete the domain by clicking on the red 'x' button on the far right side of the domain.
